Monitoring and Evaluation
The following pages provide advice and guidance for undertaking monitoring and evaluation as well as providing evaluation reports that provide an evidence base for future regeneration work in the City. The information is particularly aimed at project managers, practitioners or managers of organisations.
What is Monitoring?
Monitoring is the routine, systematic collection of information for the purpose of checking your project's progress against your project plans.
What is Evaluation?
Evaluation is the process of measuring whether an organisation has achieved or is on the way to achieving its previously agreed goals.
Plymouth Monitoring and Evaluation Group (PMEDG) have developed these pages as part of their work to increase the incidence of monitoring and evaluation across Plymouth. This recently formed group helps provide a strategic direction to the development of a 'monitoring and evaluation culture' in the city. It is comprised of local evaluation practitioners, representatives of key funding bodies and service providers.
